Chan Allen
Chan has been active in the arts and heritage sector including work on community projects, archiving, museum and gallery work for national and regional institutions. Exposed to persistent barriers she began to challenge decision-making structures, funding sources and power dynamics and this led her to become a systems-change advocate. To effect change from the inside Chan now works for a large grant-making organisation with an extensive portfolio, strongly believing diversity is key to change. Chan has both a degree in Archaeology and Classics and a PGCert in Philanthropy, Grant making and Social Investment and is passionate about social action, and in deepening social impact to increase opportunities for communities and particularly young working-class people in the arts, ensuring that elitism becomes eradicated.
