Julie Carr

Interpretation
London

Julie has worked in museums for over 20 years, focusing on increasing opportunities for the inclusion and participation of underrepresented groups. After careers in archaeology and teaching, she held learning manager posts at the Science Museum, the Horniman Museum and the Museum of London. She is currently an audience advocate and interpretation manager at the British Museum. Julie has developed a wide portfolio of skills, including expertise in working with adults, families, schools and ESOL learners, alongside a flair for programming, co-curation, creative partnerships and writing for a variety of audiences and formats. Proud to be working class, she is keen to diversify the museum workforce.
